The intention is to protect the buying power of benefits when prices increase. But retirees frequently notice that over time their Social Security benefits don't buy as much as they used to. Larry Bucshon (IN-8), Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40), and Norma Torres (CA-35). .The conclusions of this study were echoed by a different study published in the medical journal Neurology. .Under current law, the Medicare program excludes coverage of most routine and emergency dental care, leaving around 70 percent of seniors without comprehensive dental insurance coverage.
